Step 1: Visit the ATM machine of your bank. Insert your Debit Card & validate it by entering the PIN.


Step 2: From the services, select option to generate EVC for ITR filing.


Step 3: You will receive an EVC on registered mobile number (which is linked to your bank account).


Step 4: Now, follow till Step 3 (of Aadhar OTP) & you’ll come to the screen shown below. Select Option 1. A box will appear, asking for the EVC. Insert the code & click on “Submit” button to e verify ITR.

Ans. To improve ease of filing income tax return and to avoid the physical submission of ITR-V, the income tax department has introduced EVC verification. Ans. You can check the status of ITR V after 120 days as follows. Log onto Income Tax Department e-Filing website. Click on ITR-V Receipt Status. Input your PAN and the assessment year. Now, if you have filed for that particular year (and sent the ITR-V to CPC, Bangalore) you will see:“ITR-V Received”. In case you haven’t e filed you’ll see: “No e-return has been filed for this PAN and assessment year, or e-filing acknowledgment number”


Q- What happens if ITR is not E verified?

Ans. An ITR filed but not verified is treated as an invalid return by the department. It would mean that you have not filed the ITR for a particular assessment year. To complete ITR filing process,e-verification is required.


Q- What if ITR V is rejected?

Ans. The Income Tax Department may also reject the ITR-V either if your signature is missing or the ITR V document is of “poor quality”. Remember, you will receive a notification via email and SMS if your ITR-V is rejected. The status of rejection can be checked through “My Account” section.
